Yes, you need to register each of your NAICs separately. Register by clicking on the New User Registration link on the NCIVS website.

What if we have a small Book of Business and filing FTP will put a strain on our technical resources?
If you insure less than 500 vehicles in North Carolina an alternative reporting process is available to you. Please review Section 5, “BOB Reporting by Smaller Insurance Companies” of the Implementation Guide for additional Details.

How can we correct/change the contact information for our company?
Log in to the www.NCIVS.com website, click on Account Information, and change the contact information.

I have forgotten my User Name, how can I retrieve it?
For insurance company users, your User Name is the same as your NAIC number.

I have forgotten my password. How do I reset it?
You can reset your password by selecting the Forgot/Reset Password link located on the log in screen of the NCIVS website. After selecting this link you must provide the answer to the secret question. A temporary password will be sent to the main/functional contact for the account by answering the question correctly.

Is the website password totally independent of the FTP account credentials?
Yes, they are independent.

We represent three NAIC codes. Can we report all three companies in one Book of Business file or should we send three separate files?
You must submit one Book of Business file per NAIC number.

How do I change my web account password?
Login to the www.NCIVS.com website using your username and password, Select "Account Information" in the top menu, Check the "Do you want to update your password?" check box and follow the steps. If you have previously submitted a secret question and answer, then the answer will be needed to modify the password.

Could you provide further clarification on the vehicle types that are exempt from reporting to North Carolina IVS?
NC Vehicle Types To Be Reported:
• Passenger vehicles (cars, vans, pickups etc.)
• Motorcycles
• Recreational vehicles
• Any motor vehicle registered for use on the highway and which must comply with North Carolina General Statute 20-309
Vehicle types not required to be reported:
• Trailers (semitrailer, travel trailers, boat trailers, pole trailers and utility trailers)
• Implements of husbandry
• Vehicles intended for off-road use (ATVs, dirk bikes, etc)

What is the timeline for NCIVS to go live?
www.NCIVS.com will be available for Insurers to register staring 02/21/2023. The deadline for registration is 03/31/2023. The deadline to begin testing is 06/23/2023 and NCIVS will be in production by 08/25/2023.

Is Commercial reporting required?
Yes, commercial reporting is required. Please refer to the Implementation Guide for details regarding commercial reporting.

Should vehicles on comprehensive only polices be reported?
No, you should only include vehicles with active liability insurance.
